“Thankfully we’ve had some really cool summer weather of late and it’s easy to forget what happened in January during the ice storm. Mt. Park Community Center was closed for months due to damage. The Playschool will finally reopen their regular hours September 3.

Cindy and I attended a class recently on hosting a State roll out plan for EP called Be2WeeksReady. https://www.oregon.gov/oem/hazardsprep/pages/2-weeks-ready.aspx We are planning to present the info locally to small groups within our community as soon as we receive the participant books. In the meantime, there are two important dates coming up. Jan Castle from PrepLO is again presenting at the MT. Park HOA Board meeting at 6:30 p.m Wednesday Sept 4 on the subject of Emergency Preparedness. (In January she and several others made the same presentation just 10 days before our ice storm after which all bets were off for making any plans for clubhouse use due to all the damage.)
